On the 1st floor, where the individual workstations are placed, there are two rooms offering a lot of space. Through the wide and many windows there is a lot of natural light during the daytime. The workstation´s setup of the different leasers is rearranged by themselfs over time and their changing needs. The setup in the picture is by now long outdated…

On the 2nd level during regular work hours a kitchen / living room is at your disposal. Also you will find a full bathroom there. It actually is the main tenant’s living room, so when he is away during regular work hours, it can be used respectfully. For music-addicts there are also a small 70s organ and some string-instruments at hand…

By this setup and time a respectful, face-to-face and down-to-earth coworkingculture nearly always shaped itself. Furthermore it also promoted good times and synergy effects between the different fields, crafts and partnerships over the past 4 years by its low-frequent changing tenants.

Some backgrounds first!  With mixed emotions for all sides, one IT-related startup needs more staff than we are capable of providing adequate space for and by that has outgrown our creative cluster…

…but every end is a new beginning, therefore, affordable space in the heart of St. Pauli has now become vacant for fresh creative starters as well as for experienced professionals looking for a new creative and cosy squat…

    _______________________________________

Right now the squat consits of

    • Two desks are in use by ProntoNet, an experienced web-company developing Webapps, Intranet- and Portal-Systems based on the Open Source Framework Plone

    • Another two tables or in high times a bit more are reserved for the Italian denim-designer Stefano and his brand. Having his atelier around the corner, from time to time he needs some space for stock or  when developing new patterns and prototypes

    • Also we have a free photo journalist on the team. Most of the time she is working outside, but needs one desk for selecting and post processing her outstanding work. Sometimes a bit space for indoor shootings is needed

    • You?

    Other squats around the backyard

    • On the ground floor in the house Vincent is running his Office VidoNet providing IT-Support for local SMEs around Microsoft-Server-Solutions. Besides he is providing WiFi for the house, he also is into music having a small “rehearsal room”

    • Two young carpenters are having their garage as well as their own lacquering tunnel at the end of the backyard; always handy for tips and tools. They are mainly equipping cafes, bars and restaurants in the district with custom durable furniture and interior design

    • In another house in the backyard there is a charity helping young refugees with integration

The coworkingspace space on the 1st level extends over two rooms:

    • Through the front, larger and elongated cut room you enter the office space. Due to it´s cut and it´s location it offers itself as a community office
    • The rear room can be set up either as a shared office or as a conference room. Not in the pictures, but by now there also is a small pantry with a fridge, warm water and two cooking plates installed

On the 2nd floor, during the daytime, a living room with kitchen offers cozy places to take breaks or may be be used for more informal meetings. A full equipped bathroom is placed there as well.

The detailed planing and division of the officespace is planned and tackled jointly by the stakeholders fitting their needs of the respective bussinesses.

For a flowing office community that not only creates aside and tolerates each other, but also has fun and success together, it is fundamental that each member has understanding for the other and fields of interests overlap or at best supplement.

As our squat offers a broad base from crafts over creative professions to IT this should not be an extremely difficult requirement to meet. Anyway, in reverse it is also important for us be able to relate to you and your bussiness ethics. If your conception of humankind relates more with the “Homo cooperativus” conception rather than the old fashioned but outdated “Homo economicus”, you are just right with us!
